Do you ever feel lost in the ups and downs of life?
The busy times?
The moments where time stands still?
Times when you are entirely overwhelmed with life’s handouts
Times when you look at the people closest to you and feel nothing
Times when your heart is jumping for joy, you pray for the feeling to never end
Times when you take a mental snapshot of a truly sentimental moment, to look back on in dark times
So many times, like a film reel on steroids
Too fast, so frantic
No time to take a breath
No time to fully take it in
Left
Discarded, an unwanted tissue on the floor
Bereft, a shell on the ocean floor
Slighted, the misfit in the cool group
Doused, a light once burning bright
The sun sets and I looking out at the world
Alone
In my thoughts
My feelings
Emotionally
And…
Still the sun sets
Ready for a new day
The promise God made to me
For a new day will dawn
Ridding the power of today over me
A new day will dawn on us from above
because our God is loving and merciful.
