So tight

So close

I cannot breathe

So uncomfortable

I want to run

But I cannot move

I want to leave this place

But my body remains stuck

So hard to keep a smile on my face

So hard to keep this positive demeanour

I just want to escape

I don’t like this feeling

My skin crawls with the discomfort of it all

My heart beats too fast

Sweat appears on my brow

Pins and needles in my fingers

I want to run

Please let me go so I can leave

I can’t breathe

I’m getting light-headed

Week after week

The same feelings

Seems like it’s getting worse

I am so alone

I feel alien

I feel like a sore thumb

I feel like I’m standing out from the crowd

But in a bad way

So tired

I keep fighting this feeling

I want to let go

Maybe I shouldn’t fight this anynore

I just let it be

And eventually I emerge from this tight space

A beautiful butterfly

The world mine to explore
