Where is my life heading?
The ever present question
Gazing out at the city streets down below
I wonder
Unsettling tightness in my chest
Unease encroaching like clouds on a rainy day
My body uncomfortable with the need to move
Bigger, better, faster, smarter
In contemporary culture we were never made to be enough
Constantly under the pressure of making your next move
Being pulled between the two
The world and the Kingdom
What would you do?
One gives me pressure insurmountable, soul weary with the strain
The other gives peace, permission and time for rest
Life over the past few weeks have truly been a blur
So much has happened
Yesterday feels like last week and
Tomorrow feels like today
I’ve chosen peace
I’ve chosen permission
I’ve chosen to have a time for rest
This is my time
God is telling me to calm my thoughts and slow my strive
And go at the pace of Grace
The moment of acceptance gives my heart the freedom to beat to its own rhythm
My body to exhale without the urgency to inhale
My soul to simply exist
My journey is one I’m still trying to understand and when I don’t understand, just having faith
He’s never failed me yet.
