When?

What a jarring feeling it is to have someone consistently hurt your heart.

It is not in me to be malicious and uncaring, therefore when I put myself in a position where I am giving some of myself, and not getting anything in return… it’s hurtful.

The pain. Piercing my heart with a hot ice pick.

Isolation. Suddenly, I am all alone, galaxies separating me from everyone else.

The tears. Hot and in abundance, streaming down my face.

Acceptance. That now is not the right time.

Will it ever be?

Will I ever be enough?

Will I ever get to the place where I am no longer looking for someone to love me?

When will I ever love myself enough to never feel like I need someone else to love me, see me and hold me?

The fault lies with me.

I put myself in this position.

I failed to set boundaries, now I am the one getting hurt.
