It’s past 11 and I lay in bed with nothing to comfort me but my duvet.

All alone, feeling lonely I listen to my heart beat,wondering when or if I’ll ever feel another man’s touch.

I ponder the journey of life and if I’ve made the right choices. Am I where I’m supposed to be right now?

My mind wanders to all my friends and what they’d be getting up to. Do they wonder about me too?

I get overwhelmed and cry my eyes out, staying in my pajamas till 4 the next day.

My self-esteem is at an all time low, the blade cuts beautifully and I watch nature take its course.

There’s a new guy on my mind and I strum myself gently, like the strings of a guitar, heart throbbing, breathing short.
No one knows me like my bed
Ridicule, dislike, sadness, depression, anger, joy, happiness, contemplation, worry and much more has been a part of my being. Not many people know me very well, but my bed has been with me through it all. My bed knows me like no other, no judgement or ridicule, just a quiet consistency throughout.
Sad, but at the same time comforting that I always have my bed.
