There are approximately 7.125 billion people in the world and I am just one person. This world is such a huge place, yet many people only venture out to just outside their front door. There’s this film I watched over Christmas called Eat, Pray, Love and it was about this woman who was so unhappy in her everyday life so she decided to leave her marriage and find herself. It was beautiful to watch. I think at some point in everyone’s lives, they feel lost and want to be found.
At this moment in time, I feel lost and rather insignificant in the world we live in today. I’ve even looked up hobbies to try on the internet. I want to travel and do outrageous, spontaneous things. I want to lose myself even more, to then find myself wholly.
I am the type of person who can pour their whole heart out for a person and not expect anything in return. However, I’ve recently found that I am not able to do it as much anymore. Each and every time I do it, it feels like a small part of me is lost forever. It’s draining.
I wonder what my purpose is in life and whether I should be selfish and do what I want for once. Who cares about university exams? So what if this guy doesn’t have romantic feelings for me. I need to stop relying on other people to make me feel fulfilled in life. I need to do it for myself. I come first for me. This is my journey of finding myself wholly, completely and imperfectly. 😊😊
